What we are

We are a small, character-led independent publisher run by Vicky Platt and Denise Wrightson.

Our studio is where work is made, but it is also a threshold to somewhere else because the Hoppits turn up whenever they feel like it. We have no idea where they come from. Yet.

What we make

We make illustrated books and related work built around Vicky's hand-drawn characters.

A project may begin with history, a story, an object, a place, or something entirely invented. The Hoppits may observe, participate, help, or meddle. We're never sure which it will be.

Our first book is The Bayeux Tapestry (sort of).

Who we are

Vicky Platt draws the characters and illustrations.

Denise Wrightson writes, edits, plans, and shapes the books and projects around them.

Albert is their beloved Italian rescue dog. He keeps watch.

Hop lives in the studio, though he is not always where Denise left him.

Together, they make Hoppit Studios.
